Lytham Institute, a registered charity dedicated to improving the quality of life for residents of Lytham and the surrounding areas, has announced the launch of a recruitment campaign to appoint six additional trustees.
Following Fylde Council's recent approval to expand the Institute’s governing body, the charity is seeking individuals with expertise in fundraising, finance, arts, culture, leisure, heritage, and communications to join its board. This strategic initiative aims to strengthen the board’s capacity to guide the charity effectively, ensuring it continues to fulfil its mission of providing facilities for education, recreation, and leisure.
Councillor Karen Buckley, Leader of Fylde Council, commented: “This is an exciting step forward for Lytham as we expand our trustee board to include individuals with a wealth of expertise in key areas.
‘’These new appointments will be instrumental in steering the Institute towards a brighter future, supporting our community, and realising the full potential of this invaluable heritage asset.”
Applications are invited via the submission of a CV and a supporting statement of no more than 500 words by email to ian.curtis@fylde.gov.uk.
The deadline for applications is 5 January 2025, with shortlisted candidates invited to attend an interview. Applicants should detail their relevant experience and vision for the role.
Councillor Buckley added: “The appointed trustees will work collaboratively on a brand new vision for the Institute, aided by the feasibility study which is currently underway and due to be completed early next year.
‘’The findings will be consulted upon to make sure the Lytham community are involved in shaping the future of Lytham Institute.”
