Blackpool’s premium cinema scene is entering a thrilling new era with the launch of The Arc Cinema at the former Backlot Cinema site.
From now, the venue will officially join The Arc Cinema family, introducing a bold new identity, refreshed branding and ticket prices starting from just £5.95, while maintaining the features that regular visitors love.
Audiences can continue to enjoy the luxurious comfort, outstanding picture and sound, and high-quality service that Blackpool cinema-goers have come to expect.
Importantly, all existing staff remain in place, ensuring the same warm welcome from a team who know their customers best.
Councillor Mark Smith, Cabinet Member for Economy and Built Environment at Blackpool Council, said: “We are pleased to announce a new chapter for Blackpool’s cinema offer as Arc Cinemas becomes the new operator and we are excited to welcome them to the town.
“Their arrival ensures that Blackpool continues to benefit from a high-quality, modern cinematic experience for all to enjoy. We are confident the much-loved venue will remain a popular destination for people of all ages, from both near and far.
“With one of the largest IMAX screens in the North West, the cinema will continue to showcase blockbuster films through immersive experiences, a unique offer in Lancashire and a fantastic asset for our town.
“Blackpool is fast becoming a destination for premium entertainment and events, giving both residents and visitors more opportunities to stay longer and enjoy a vibrant, family-friendly evening offer.
“The multi-cinema complex continues to play an important role in our wider plan to boost the local economy, create more employment opportunities and provide a diverse entertainment and leisure offer for all – a key focus of our vision for Making Blackpool Better.”
General Manager Ben Jones will continue to lead the site through this exciting transition.
“I’m absolutely thrilled to be welcoming The Arc Cinema brand to Blackpool,’’ he said.
‘’I’ve followed their growth closely and recently visited the stunning new Preston City Centre site, so I already knew the quality, care and passion that goes into their cinemas.
“To now be part of that family is incredibly exciting. Our team remains exactly the same, and we can’t wait for customers to enjoy the outstanding Arc Cinema experience - now with ticket prices from just £5.95.”
Convenience remains a priority for visitors, with three hours’ free parking at Houndshill Shopping Centre, plus extended parking options for blockbuster releases like Avatar: Fire & Ash, arriving on 19 December in Lancashire’s only IMAX.
The rebrand also signals a new approach to pricing, making The Arc Cinema one of the best-value premium cinema experiences in the North West.
The move highlights the company’s commitment to combining high-quality entertainment with affordable, family-friendly pricing.
Movie-goers have plenty to look forward to, including current hits like Wicked For Good, upcoming releases such as Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 and a seasonal programme of Christmas Classics starting each weekend from this week.
