A decade of community involvement for Chorley mortgage firm

Their understanding and customer-focussed services might be sought by customers nationwide, but Chorley is definitely where the heart is for top-rated mortgage advice specialists Aspect Mortgages.

The independent, husband and wife-headed firm, which prides itself on offering friendly, face-to-face mortgage advice rather than an anonymous call-centre or chatbot experience, is about to celebrate a decade of trading from their Chorley hometown office this October.

And, if further proof of their dedication was needed, that anniversary comes as Aspect reaches an impressive 500 five-star Google reviews, a rare achievement among even industry leaders.

For founder and Director Rachel Gill, it’s all about the personal touch: “Ten years in Chorley is something we are incredibly proud of,” she says. “We’ve always wanted to be a local business, with real people that our clients can meet, talk to and get to know. We’re not a call centre, and we never want to lose that personal relationship with our customers.”

For an independent mortgage firm to also achieve the rarity of 500 five-star reviews in today’s fast-changing financial landscape, is testament to the team’s commitment to outstanding customer service.

“Reviews are particularly meaningful to us because every one represents a real person who has trusted us to help with an important financial decision,” explains Rachel. “We’re enormously grateful that so many have taken the time to tell others about their experience, as well as recommending us to friends and family.”

Founded in 2004 by Rachel, with husband Richard joining the business in 2007, Aspect gradually expanded their close-knit team of trusted advisors and specialists, moving to 16 St Thomas’s Road in 2016. 2022 proved a red-letter year, when Rachel and Richard were able to purchase the building, cementing their local commitment, and enabling them to make sympathetic, sustainable improvements to the building.

While Aspect now has a nationwide reach, its Chorley roots remain essential to its identity: “We’re very proud of where we’re from,” confirms Rachel. “Being visible, accessible and part of our local community is something we’ll never take for granted.”

With a reputation for enthusiastically supporting local events and causes, the Aspect team are already planning more involvement to kick off the next ten years. This autumn will see them sponsoring the Big Chorley Sleepout, raising awareness and vital funds for local organisations supporting people when they need it most, whilst preparing to ‘kick-off’ a two-year sponsorship of the Chorley FC Women’s team.
