Celebration, inclusivity and community as Preston Pride set to light up Flag Market

Preston Pride, the celebration of the city’s LGBTQ+ community, has announced details of the 2025 event later this month.

Taking place on Saturday, 27 September 2025, from 10am to 4pm on The Flag Market, the festival promises a vibrant, free-to-attend day of music, performances, stalls, and opportunities to show your support for the LGBTQIA+ community.

Building on the success of previous years, Preston Pride will feature a wide range of entertainment, including live music, drag performances, and local artists. The event aims to create a welcoming space for everyone, regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, or background. Attendees can expect to see a variety of stalls from local organisations, charities, and businesses that support the LGBTQIA+ community.

Now growing stronger than ever, Preston Pride has rapidly evolved since its founding in 2012. What began with modest attendance numbers has blossomed into a major community celebration with over 3,000 attendees recorded in 2024. This year’s festivities aim to further elevate visibility, inclusivity, and community engagement.

Councillor Hindle, Cabinet Member for Culture and Arts at Preston City Council said, "Preston Pride has become one of the most important and uplifting events in our city’s calendar.

“It’s a day where people of all backgrounds come together to celebrate diversity, visibility, and inclusion, while sending a clear message that Preston is a welcoming and supportive city for everyone.

“I’m proud that The Flag Market will once again host such a brilliant showcase of unity, and I encourage residents and visitors alike to join us in celebrating this year’s Pride.”
