An 89-year-old woman has died following a collision in Leyland last weekend.
The collision, at the junction of Dunkirk Lane and Paradise Lane was between a Mercedes A200 car and a pedestrian. We received the report at 7:06am.
The pedestrian, who can now be named as 89-year-old Sylvia McKearnan, died in hospital on 12th January 2026.
In a tribute, her family said: “‘We are heartbroken by the loss of our adored mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and auntie whose kindness, warmth and love touched all our lives.
“Her sudden passing in this tragic car accident leaves an emptiness in our hearts that cannot be filled.
“She was the guiding light of our family, and her memory will forever be treasured. We thank everyone for their love and support during this difficult time.”
Enquiries into the collision are ongoing.
