A teenager has died following a collision between two cars in Grimsargh on Sunday.
Police received reports of the collision on Preston Road, between a green MG TF and a black Audi Q7 at 9:55am yesterday morning.
The driver of the MG, a 19-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene, despite the best efforts of the emergency services.
The driver of the Audi, a woman in her 40's suffered minor injuries and was taken to hospital.
The road remained closed throughout the day whilst enquiries at the scene were carried out and has since re-opened.
A spokesperson for Lancashire Police said: ‘’We know that the road being closed for a significant amount of time will have affected people’s journeys, and want to thank those affected for their patience and understanding today whilst we responded to and began our investigation into the collision.
‘’Our enquiries are ongoing, and we are asking for your help with those enquiries by appealing for any information or footage that may assist us.
‘’If you have CCTV or Dashcam of Preston Road between Grimsargh and Preston between 9:45am and 10am on Sunday, we would be particularly interested in seeing it.
‘’If you witnessed the collision or the moments prior to or after the collision and haven’t yet spoken to us, please come forward and get in touch.’’
