A man has been banned from entering ASDA, Tesco and Aldi stores across Lancashire after repeated shoplifting offences.
43-year-old Kalvin Abram was sentenced at Lancaster Magistrates' Court to six months in prison and given a five-year Criminal Behaviour Order.
Police say the order will help protect retail staff and tackle persistent theft across the county.
PC Kim Roberts, from Blackpool Police, said: “Shoplifting isn’t a victimless crime. It harms local businesses, affects staff, and impacts the wider community. We’re committed to taking a firm, consistent approach to retail crime through Op Vulture, and we’ll continue working closely with our partners and local stores to identify offenders and keep our county safe.”
Operation Vulture is Lancashire Constabulary’s response to shoplifting across the county, backed by Lancashire's Police and Crime Commissioner Clive Grunshaw.
The operation sees dedicated officers undertaking hotspot patrolling, increasing their visibility in targeted areas and creating strong partnerships with retailers across the county to better share intelligence, get a deeper understanding of retail crime and identify more offenders.
