Teams from local businesses and charities across Preston will come together to compete in the annual Preston City Games.
Events include Rounders, Netball, Boccia and Football and is to be held at the University of Lancashire’s Sports Arena on Friday, July 3.
Preston City Games is designed to promote teamwork, wellbeing and motivation, while also providing a valuable networking opportunity for local organisations.
Originally launched as the UK Corporate Games in 2012, the event has since become a popular annual fixture for the Preston business and voluntary sector.
The annual event is organised and delivered in partnership between business support services provider Shout Connect, the University of Lancashire, and Preston City Council.
Ian Coupe, Chief Executive of Shout Connect, said: “Preston City Games continues to be an annual highlight for the Shout Connect team! It’s fantastic to see businesses, organisations and charities coming together through sport to build connections and enjoy the day. We are looking forward to another outstanding event in 2026.”
Jane Meek, Interim Director of Community and Wellbeing, said: “The City Games continue to go from strength to strength, providing a great opportunity for people from local businesses and charities across Preston to come together to champion health and wellbeing, while also fostering those softer skills such as teamwork and camaraderie.”
Building on the success of previous years, the organisers are keen to welcome even more teams in 2026. Registration is open to full teams only via the event website, and organisations must register by Friday 19 June 2026. Participants are asked to select their preferred sport when signing up.
Organisations unable to field a complete team are encouraged to contact the organisers, who will aim to match them with another team. Teams in this position should use the contact us form via the Preston City Games website.
Jimmy Khan, Head of Sport and Active Wellbeing at the University of Lancashire, said: “As we enter the fourth year of the relaunched Preston City Games, it is encouraging to see its continued growth and impact.
The Games provide an excellent platform for businesses across Preston and neighbouring areas to promote employee wellbeing, encourage physical activity, and strengthen connections.
“As Head of Sport and Active Wellbeing at the University of Lancashire, I am proud to support an initiative that contributes to a healthier, more connected workforce and community.”
To take part in Preston City Games 2026, organisations should register their team and sport preference via the event website by Friday 19 June 2026.
